Cherry Nix Heffner, 73, of Amarillo, TX made her transition on February 13, 2022.

A memorial celebration will be at 1 o’clock, Saturday, March 12, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Cherry was born Charyl Ellen Nix on October 24, 1948. From day one, she was called “Cherry”.

Cherry is survived by her husband Cliff, brother Orvie Nix and his wife Judy of Amarillo, brother Rickey Nix of Amarillo, sister Cindy Hurley of Phoenix, stepdaughter Nancy Salle and her husband Tim of Greenville, SC, grandsons Jarrett Warren of Phoenix, Matt Salle of Greenville, and Nik Salle of Greenville, granddaughters Amanda Fulton of Greenville, and Jade Phillips of Greenville, and great-grandchildren Allie Salle, Ava Salle, Belle Phillips, Maverick Salle, Evee Fulton, Easton Phillips, Asher Fulton, Lincoln Phillips, and Bianca Salle.

Cherry was preceded in passing by her parents Clois and Mary Belle Nix, sister-in-law Sheila Nix, grandson Payton Warren, daughter Christi Warren, and niece Carrie Blakey.

When Cherry was in her twenties, she taught ballroom and Latin dancing. Later, she became a dental assistant, working most of those years with Dr. Jack Fong. In 1984, she moved to Los Angeles where she met the love of her life, Cliff. After moves to Albuquerque and Kansas City, they returned to Amarillo in 1996. Cherry’s love for family and friends ran deep. They all know they were loved and knew if they needed her, “just call”.
