Edith Faye Harden, 87, Amarillo, TX passed into eternal life with her Savior, Jesus Christ on January 13, 2021.

A private burial will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 18, 2021, at Memorial Park in Amarillo, Texas.  There will be no viewing due to current Covid precautions.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Edith was born August 1, 1933, to Burrell Doyal Garrison and Clara Belle Hardin in Rotan, Texas.  She was a graduate of Yuma High School (1951) and Arizona Bible Institute.  She married Joseph Ervin Harden in 1954 in Yuma, Arizona, and was the mother of four daughters: Denise, Dianne, Jolyn and Marci.

Mrs. Harden was a member of Evangelical Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas and previously First Baptist Church in Yuma, Arizona.  She was a homemaker and loved sewing and quilting.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Harden and brothers Kirby Garrison and Nelvin Garrison.

Survivors include Denise Autry (Blake); Dianne Johnson (Kevin); Jolyn Safranek (Vic) and Marci Libsack (Lon).  She was loved by her grandchildren: Lauren Lusk, Kristen Autry, Aaron Johnson, Andrea Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Tom Safranek, Donny Safranek, Kristen Davidson, Matt Safranek, Tanner Libsack, and Paige Heinrich.  She was a great-grandmother to Brooklyn, Hallie, Carter, Ava, Levi, Logan, Landon, Bria and Elli.

  4. So sad to hear off Mrs. Harden’s passing, but rest assured she is celebrating with Mr. Harden. Definitely will be missed by all that were blessed to have known her. Denise, Dianne, Jolyn and Marci our heartfelt condolences to you all. May she Rest In Peace. Love you all.

  5. I spent a lot of time at the Hardens’ home in Yuma when I was in high school. Her daughter Denise is my best friend from high school. Edith and Joe were always so welcoming to me and Joe always loved to tease. Their whole family is very special to me and a very special part of my life. I’m very sad to hear of Edith’s passing but know she is in a special place with special people she loves.

  6. Beautiful picture of a very loving and kind mother. We have great memories from our lives at First Baptist Church and this woman was in most of them. Our prayers go out to the wonderful children she has left behind.
