Jim was born in Childress, TX on February 14, 1942, to George Wesley and Jewell Marie Moore. He was the second child, the first son, in a family of ten children. Louis Lamour was his favorite author. Jim retired from Pantex in March of 2003.

Jim enjoyed traveling in his fifth wheel to Sinton, TX from January – March each year where he enjoyed the golf course. He was a member of the Sinton Golf Club. Jim made friends with people from all over North America. He also enjoyed many cruises with friends and family.

Jim could fix anything; he was a handyman extraordinaire. He would tinker, solder, nail, tape, or reconstruct as task required. Some of his happiest years were after retirement when he fixed small engines.

Jim enjoyed telling joke to his friends and enjoyed their laughter. As his wife often said, “He was full of it!”

Jim visited St. Stephen United Methodist Church early in marriage, eventually joining John Mark Sunday School Class. He loved being a part of the Usher team.

When Jim married Kay, he taught her how to play golf. Jim was a good player and won memorial tournaments at Pantex. He would use his earnings to completely outfit Kay in golf gear, clothes, etc. This worked really well until Kay thought she graduated and no longer wanted instruction. Early in marriage, they decided to buy an old house and later moved it to the lake where they enjoyed working together on remodeling it. They boated and rode motorcycles on the weekends. Together, Jim and Kay played golf at the Canyon Country Club for many years. They also joined the 18-hole course at Palo Duro Canyon and enjoyed having their own golf cart.

Jim and Kay enjoyed square dancing and met many couples to dance and enjoy life with. They were great dancers and enjoyed Bridge Club.
