Shirley Marie Stidham, 85, of Amarillo, TX departed this life on December 23, 2020.
She will be laid to rest at the Newark Memorial Gardens, in the Garden of Devotion next to family members.
Shirley was born July 3, 1935, to Harry and Helen Good.
She married the love of her life, Ernie, on August 15, 1953, in Union County Indiana.
Shirley is survived by her husband of over 67 years, Ernest Stidham; sons Ernie Stidham and wife Jane, and Steve Stidham and wife Laura; grandchildren, Samantha Kent and husband Jeremy, Marlena Austin and husband Chad, Nicholas Stidham and wife Brittany, and Brice Stidham; great-grandchildren, Marydith Stidham, Braden Austin, Braxton Austin, and Wyatt Stidham
She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Milligan) Good and stepfather Robert Watson; father, Harry Good and stepmother Stella; brothers, Donald Good, and Robert (Bobby) Good; and sisters, Margie Garee, and Jo Ann Lugenbeal.
Shirley was a dedicated mother and devout Christian. She was a lifelong member of the Calvary Christian Union Church. In recent years she became a member of the Lighthouse Memorial Church in Millersport, Ohio. Shirley loved traveling around the Ohio area with her husband Ernie listening to the Cavaliers Quartet and enjoying gospel music. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and church family and especially enjoyed trips to Branson and other locations. Shirley loved spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they were the light of her day.
In recent years, Shirley enjoyed spending countless hours gardening and feeding the birds. She loved to sit on the porch and watch the birds for hours on end.
Shirley will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew her. A special thanks to Gracie Young who was a very dear friend of many years and was by her side through many rough times with her health in recent years.
