Betty Jo Maston, 83, of Dumas, died Thursday, April 16, 2020.  Private family graveside services will be held in the Stinnett Cemetery.  Memorial Services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox.

Betty was born on April 8, 1937 in Dumas to James and Elsie Whittington.  She was a homemaker and member of the First Assembly of God.  She loved to sing, play the harmonica, and praise her Lord.  She was a member of the Texas Tornadoes Performance Group.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Maston; and two grandchildren, Billy and Timmy.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Reeves of Amarillo and Joann Tanner of Stinnett; a son, David Maston of Dumas; a brother, Robert Whittington and wife Lavonne of Amarillo; a sister, Kim Risenhoover of Eufala, Ok.; twelve grandchildren, Donny, Michael, Sam, Angela, LaDonna, Ashley, Alisha, Cory, Tyden, Brayden, Kaitlynn, and McKenzie; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be on Sunday from 1:00 P.M to 6:00 P.M. and on Monday from 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

  1. I remember growing up and always seeing her . My Mom & her we’re friends . She was always a very Sweet lady . I know she will be greatly missed . My Mother Carolyn sends her condolences also . Keeping the family in our thoughts and Prayers. RIP Betty

  6. Aunt Betty was a great Aunt to me and all my Cousins, she was always fun to hang out with and she wasn’t afraid to say what was on her mind. I wish I could have seen her one more time.

  7. My heartfelt sympathy to the family! My Mom used to have her babysit us, if she was going somewhere. We were so excited because she would sing and play games with us. If she couldn’t, we would cry…
