Billy Ray Stewart Sr. “Mr. Bill”, 83, of Amarillo, TX passed away on February 25, 2021.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 5, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Billy was born in Van Buren, AR on February 5, 1937, to Tommy and Dessie Stewart and a stepfather whom he was very close to, Troy.

Billy married Roberta “Bert” Stewart in Wichita Falls, TX in 1957. He later moved to Amarillo, TX and had three children, Billy Stewart, Jr., Jimmy Stewart, and Tammy Stewart-McBroom.

Billy was employed with various jobs involving truck driving and door to door sales. He was also self-contracted as a handyman and painter. He loved playing guitar and writing music. For many years, he played for Sunset Center for the Friday Night Art Walk. His passion was playing music for the Nursing Home residents. Billy also loved to draw and paint.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta V. Stewart; siblings, Kathryn Rodgers, Lucille Allen, and Donald Stewart; and children, Jimmy Stewart, and Tammy Stewart-McBroom.

Survivors include his son, Billy Stewart, Jr.; grandchildren, Reagan Lauhoff, Joseph McBroom, and Dusty McBroom; great-grandchildren, Hallie Lauhoff, Caden Lauhoff, Breah McBroom, Saige McBroon, Zoe McBroom, and Grady McBroom; and sister, Norma Stewart-Orr.
