It is with great sadness that the family of Brian Ashley Scott of Amarillo, TX announces his passing on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the age of 47. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Brian was born July 19, 1973, in Nashville, TN to Jimmy Scott and Diane Lish.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  Brian worked for the Texas A&M Forest Service for twenty years, before working for himself.

Brian’s big personality and thick Tennessee accent were the first things most people noticed about him. He had a deep love for football, particularly the Tennessee Titans and the University of Tennessee Volunteers “Go Vols!”, he didn’t miss a game in college. His biggest accomplishment in life was his children. He was extremely proud and loved bragging about them to anyone who would listen. He was passionate about the outdoors, skiing and golf. Brian was a big country boy at heart who will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Scott.

Brian will be remembered by his wife, Emily Scott; daughter, Brilie Scott; son, EJ Scott; and daughter, Teegan Scott, all of Amarillo, TX.  He will also be remembered by his mother, Diane Lish, of Old Hickory, TN; a brother, Jason Scott, of Brentwood, TN; and two nephews, Connor and Drew Scott.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 P.M., Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Medi Park, the west side of the Don Harrington Discovery Center, where a tree will be planted in celebration of Brian’s life. Food will be served in the park immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, https://shop.arborday.org/trees-in-memory or 1-888-448-7337.  Donations are to be designated for Amarillo, Texas.

  1. Prayers for all the family!! Brian was the best at what he did. Sorry to not be able to attend his service coming up. I will be out of town.
