Flora Manuelita Sanchez, 74, of Dumas, TX went home to Jesus Friday, November 15, 2019.
A rosary will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Clayton, New Mexico on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 23, 2019 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, TX; 500 North Maddox.
Flora (Lita) was born on June 20, 1945 in Clayton, New Mexico to Antonio and Agapita Montoya. She was married to Daniel Sanchez and together they moved to Dumas in 1965.
Flora was a Homemaker. Flora was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and was active in the Chrasmatic Prayer Group and enjoyed attending the Charismatic Conferences and listening to Spanish Christian music. Flora loved spending time with family, she enjoyed sewing and tending her aloe vera plants, checking out the Garage sales and looked forward to the “Friday Lunch with the Ladies” tradition (although) a few guys would weasel their way in from time to time.
Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio & Agapita; her brothers, Tony and Lawrence Montoya; two sisters-in-law, Adelina Montoya and Addie Montoya, all of Clayton, New Mexico.
She is survived by her three daughters, Elizabeth (Tony) Vasquez of Cactus, TX, Yolanda Danelle Sanchez Encinias (Randy York) of Amarillo, TX, and Erma Sanchez of Amarillo, TX; sister, Margaret (Abdon) Vigil of Dumas, TX; four brothers, Dick (Luga) Montoya, Felix Montoya, Louis Montoya and Leo (Mary) Montoya; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Montoya, and Jeannie Montoya; all of Clayton, NM; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews all of whom Loved her and will miss her dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 500 North Maddox in Dumas, Texas.
