Mack William Scott went to be with his lord and savior on April 6, 2020.

He was born on September 1, 1939 to William Allen and Ada Mae Scott in Anson, TX.  He was the baby of 8 children. He graduated high school in Anson in 1957 and shortly after left to serve in the United States Army.  He served overseas in Korea during peace time for 2 years.

Mack came to know the Lord at a young age. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He had a passion for music, and he loved to sing. Mack studied music at Hardin Simmons University and throughout his life he served both as revival music director and music minister in churches around the state of Texas.

Mack was an avid reader and history buff. He loved writing and has written short stories, a book, poems, and various other writings. He also composed song lyrics and music.

In early 1989 he met Donna Bartlett and on August 25th of that same year they were married at the First United Methodist Church in San Angelo, TX. They lived their lives serving God together for 30 years.

Mack served as the music and youth minister at First Baptist Church Pharr, TX in the Rio Grande Valley. Later they came to the Texas Panhandle where they served in churches and many other outreaches to the Amarillo community.

Mack had a passion for the prison ministry. He wanted everyone to know that God loves them and there is nothing that God cannot forgive. In past years Mack has served at the Clements unit, with the Bill Glass ministries in Texas and he had been actively serving at the Randall County Jail unit up until this past year.

Mack loved to laugh, and he loved to tell stories. Most of all he always had a joke to tell. Mack never met a stranger; he had a heart for those in need and he lived his life sharing the love of Jesus.

Mack is preceded in death by his parents, William Allen, and Ada Mae; his brothers, Lloyd, Theran, Harris, Robert, and wife Barbara.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; and his son, Jay Scott and wife Leah; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Frank; sisters, Margaret and Rose; two sister-in laws, Barbara and Geneva, goddaughter, Sarah Davis Jones and husband Elton. He also had many brothers and sisters in Christ who loved him.

As much as he loved, he was truly loved by many.

The family will have a memorial service at a date to be determined.
