Betty Ruth Rice, 87, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, September 16, 2021.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 20, 2021, at Llano Cemetery with Jeremy Boothby officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Betty was born October 12, 1933, in Shawnee, OK to Bryan and Mabel Eaton.  She graduated from Matador High School.  Betty enjoyed puzzles, music, and dancing and she loved going to the mountains, especially for the fall colors.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Hermes, and Stephanie Mitchell and husband Craig, all of Amarillo, TX; four sons, Kerry Rice and wife Kathy, and Jeff Rice and wife Kim, all of Amarillo, TX, Kevin Rice and wife Sandra, of Rowlett, TX, and Greg Rice and wife Dala, of Spokane, WA; eleven grandchildren, Sydnee, Jada, Evan, Logan, Austin, Gunnar, Joseph, Noah, Dylan, Jacob, and Lindsey; and two great-grandchildren, Teddy and Mason, and another on the way; and many close friends that she considered family.

  1. Betty was a kind soul and a caring friend. May the family find peace in the days ahead. She was my friend and I will miss her.

  2. Betty was always a joy to be around. I will remember the times I would just sit and listen to some of her stories. It always tickled me how she would play her scratchoffs. And had to have that coffee!!
    My prayers with be with the entire family.
