Coyce Vernon Wilkinson

 

Coyce Vernon Wilkinson, 81, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, June 27, 2021.

Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd.  Military rites are provided by Volleys for Veterans.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Coyce was born March 14, 1940, in Dimmitt, TX to M.J. “Money” Wilkinson and Fay Scoggin Wilkinson.

On January 8, 1973, he married Carolyn Horstman in San Diego, CA.

Coyce retired from the US Navy having served in San Diego, Williamsburg, VA, at Submarine Medical Center in Groton, CT, and in Holy Loch, Scotland, Charleston, SC, Portsmouth, NH, and Portsmouth, VA.  He was a proud American and loved his country!

He loved politics.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Wilkinson, of Amarillo, TX; and son, Coyce Leon Wilkinson, of Dumas, TX.

  4. Uncle Coyce you most definitely have and always will be my favorite uncle. I loved our phone calls and talks about any and everything. You will always remain in my heart

  5. Coyce is one of my favorite ‘uncles’, another gift in my family heritage to treasure . I enjoyed our too few talks, which wandered the wide spectrum of politics, military, technology, family, faith, and literacy…basically saving the world each time. I, as many, will sorely miss him.

    Miss Carolyn, I pray you and yours all God’s sure Grace, peace, comfort, and watch care.
