Diana “Angel Baby” Garcia, 84, of Amarillo, TX went to be with the Lord Monday, July 26, 2021.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 30, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Matt Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Diana was born December 3, 1936, in Amarillo, TX, to Apolonio and Mary Velasquez. She attended school at Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a homemaker and was known for her excellent homemade meals. She was a talented singer and one of her favorite songs was “Angel Baby”. Christmas was by far her most favorite holiday.

Her favorite sport was football, and she was a huge Washington Redskins fan. Her favorite quote was “Mammas don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys!”

She was a very loving and selfless person. Her door was always open for all of her family and friends that she loved and cared for. She devoted her life to raising her grandchildren whom she loved very much.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Apolonio and Mary Velasquez; her son Johnny Morin; and brothers, Paulie and Frankie Velasquez.

Survivors include her children, Pauline Stone and husband Ronnie, of Amarillo, TX, Elias Martinez and wife Liz, of Plainview, TX, James Garcia of Abilene, TX, Mario Garcia and wife Becky, of Canyon, TX, Heron Garcia Jr. and wife Francis of Amarillo, TX, Michael Garcia of Amarillo, TX and Ana Lilia Garcia of Amarillo, TX; siblings, Fina Guajardo of Canyon, TX, Rosemary Samora of Amarillo, TX, Betty Garza of Amarillo, TX, Martin Velasquez of Amarillo, TX and Jody Velasquez of Temple, TX; 28 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
