Don Loper was born July 9, 1938, in Amarillo, Texas to Vada and E. N. Loper.  He died November 25, 2021.

Don graduated Amarillo High School in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force as a crash rescue firefighter.  He worked as a firefighter, fire driver for the City of Amarillo Fire Department for 24 years.  He was active in the design and building of a shower and laundry mobile disaster unit for Texas Baptist Men.  He was a perfectionist who could build and fix almost anything and loved to prove that natural God-given talent was superior to book learning.  He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church.

Don married Linda Manning in Amarillo on December 22, 1962. They were married for 58 years and eleven months.  They were blessed with one son, Bradley, his wife Adrienne, and four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ian, Gabriel and Jacqueline Loper.

Private interment service to be at a later date.

  1. Linda, Don was a very special person. Jim especially enjoyed working with Don on the laundry, shower unit. How wonderful to know Don is well and happy, but my prayers are for you.
