Edward Warren Smith, 77, of Borger, TX died Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Borger, TX

Memorial Service will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., on ZOOM with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’ Witnesses.  Burial will be in Thomas, OK.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX.

‘Fast Eddie’ as he was known by close friends and family, was born on April 3, 1943, in Thomas, OK to Ruby and Carl Smith.  He attended Thomas High School, where he played football. He served as an Assistant to the Admiral during his time in the Navy. He owned Eddie’s Cleaning Service for many years before retiring.  While growing up, he worked cleaning tables in a pool hall and learned to be an excellent pool player, earning him the nickname, Fast Eddie.  He loved his family and would do anything for them.

He married Verla Joyce Kirk on August 7, 1971, in Riverside, California.  He was a zealous minister of the good news of Jehovah’s Kingdom, being baptized on July 20, 1973.  He loved teaching others about the Paradise to come.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a sister, Carlene Remer; a brother, Andy Smith; and a daughter, Amy Joanne Smith.

He is survived by two sons, Charlie Smith of Borger, TX, and John Smith of Weatherford, OK; two daughters, Pamela Wright and husband Donald of Borger, TX and Robin Hoyl of Weatherford, OK; one sister, Linda Stone of El Reno, OK; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
