Eleanor Elsie (Sievering) Gonser, 92, of Amarillo, TX passed away Thursday, June 4, 2020.

Burial will be at Graceland Memorial Cemetery in Cameron, MO with Poland-Thompson Funeral Directors.

Eleanor was born April 29, 1928 in Kansas City, MO. She was the fifth of seven children born to August and Elsie Sievering. Eleanor married Charles Gonser on October 17, 1948 in Ottawa, KS. They moved to Borger, Texas in 1957.

Eleanor was a homemaker and served many years as a Red Cross Gray Lady volunteer. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. Eleanor loved stamp and coin collecting and was very involved in the Borger Stamp Club. She enjoyed fishing and metal detecting. She traveled extensively with Charlie during his retirement years.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; son, Steven; sisters, Alma, Helen, and Dorothy.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Michelle Sanders of Woodward, OK, Cliff Clevenger of Oklahoma City, OK, Brian Howard of Dallas, TX, and Kristin Herndon of Austin, TX, sisters, Selma Williams of Estes Park, CO and Betty Evenson of Kansas City, KS; brother, August Sievering of Mooresville, MO; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
