Elmer “Carroll” Weidner

Elmer “Carroll” Weidner, 71, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, March 12, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega in Vega, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.

Mr. Weidner was born in Amarillo and raised in Adrian. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1966. He worked on oversea oil rigs working his way up from a rough neck to a foreman tool pusher.

Carroll was a husband, brother, and uncle. He will be remembered by many in so many ways. Most will recall a guy with a quick wit and sense of humor whose sense of adventure took him all over the world. He leaves behind family and friends that are richer having known him and who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mozelle Weidner; sister, Lanie Sewell; and stepdaughter, Sherrie James.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Weidner, of Amarillo; daughter, Melody Sloss, of Las Vegas, NV; stepchildren, Kellie Schultz, of Amarillo, Ken Creamer, of Windsor, CO, Mike and Darryl Moroz, of Nebraska; niece, Lezlie and husband Bobby Cerf, of Midland; nephew, Bobby Sewell, of Austin; sister, Madeline Brock, of Houston; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Texas Oncology, 1000 South Coulter Suite 100, Amarillo, TX 79106.

  1. I wish to extend my condolences to your family on Carroll’s death. The loss of a loved one is always sad. There is no doubt his passing is a great loss to all that knew him.
