Janice Sowle, 78, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, November 11, 2021.

No services will be held.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Janice was born August 24, 1943, in Dubuque, IA to Otto and Evelyn Riedel.  She married Paul Sowle on October 16, 1966, in Dubuque.  He preceded her in death.

For twenty-two years, Janice worked for the City of Amarillo.   She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She loved arts and crafts, listening to music, watching TV, and enjoyed watching her son Robert march in the Drum and Bugle Corps and auto racing.

Survivors include her son, Robert Sowle and wife Delayna, of Amarillo, TX; granddaughters, Madison Mathes, and Mackenzie Sowle, both of Amarillo, TX; four sisters, Pat Duckworth and husband Charlie, and Lois Christensen and husband Jack, all of Florida, and Maxine Barrows and husband Dave, and Kathy Langlas and husband Tom, all of Iowa; and brother, Ken Riedel and wife Sue, of Iowa.

  1. I am sure this has been a very difficult and stressful time for you. I feel her peace and comfort are now assured Our God is the refuge we all seek, and I am sure she is in His arms now. She has fought the good fight, and the winning is in His arms.
