Joseph Steven Alexander, 79, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Llano East Cemetery. Military rites are provided by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Steve was born April 10, 1941, in Altus, OK to Joseph and Vida Alexander. Following graduation from Dalhart High School, he served as a military policeman in the Army Airborne in Okinawa.
After his military service, Steve began a more than twenty-three-year career working for the railroad. On December 12, 2008, he married Suzy Bedford. He was a member of Canyon Country Church. Steve was an avid motorcyclist until his health would not allow it. He was a strong man, who loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Suzy Alexander, of Amarillo, TX; son, Kyle Alexander and wife Olivia, of Dallas, TX; daughter Brittni Alexander and Chin Ho of Norwood, NY; stepdaughter Mandy Sunderland and husband Mark of Satanta, KS; stepson Ben Koelzer of Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren, Jennasen and Kenton and two step grandchildren, Jonathan and Jordan Penner.
