Kaiden Taylor Dodgen, 18, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Kaiden was born on March 18, 2002 in Amarillo to Heath Dodgen and Leah Guinn. Growing up surrounded by girls, he learned at an early age that he was a true ladies’ man!  Kaiden was a protector of his “pretty mama” and his love for her shaped him into the compassionate, kind-hearted, respectful young man everyone knew him to be.  Kaiden made all of us laugh without even trying and lit up every room he stepped into.  Kaiden was very intelligent and extremely tech savvy.  His quick wit was obvious in every conversation you had with him, and in so many different ways, he kept you on your toes.  You could easily see that he had a spark within him and a zest for life.  He graduated from Randall High School in 2020.  While attending Randall High, he was part of the wrestling team where he was a varsity letterman as a junior.

Kaiden loved to sing with his daddy when he was little. Heath would sing anything with his Tater Bug from Wiggles to Rap, and the laughter around it was priceless. There was wrestling from the living room to the mat. There were manners taught and respect was expected to those Kaiden met. There were days in the mountain fishing to calm nights sharing a movie. There were hugs and laughter and lots of kisses. Most of all, there was love.

Kaiden “Tater Bug” is survived by his father, Heath Dodgen; mother, Leah Guinn; brother, Jackson Russell; sister, Bennett Cotter; grandparents, Cynthia Dodgen, Paul C.  Dodgen, Candace Root and husband Greg, Gary Guinn and wife Rita; great-grandmother, Rhea Nell Morrison, all of Amarillo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020 in the Hillside Christian Church Auditorium, 6100 S. Soncy Road, with Bob Attaway, Brian Mashburn, and Matt Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M., Friday, September 18, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Flowers can be sent to Boxwell Brothers.
