
Montie Carolyn Dawson, 82, of Amarillo, TX passed away on August 26, 2021.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 30, 2021, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Eddie Hankins from Bell Avenue Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Montie was born in Childress, TX on December 20, 1938, to Geneva and Walter Timmons. She married Weldon Donald “Donnie” Dawson in Childress, TX on November 9, 1956. She attended West Texas State College in Canyon, TX.
Montie worked for AISD for 21 years in various clerical positions. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ.
Montie was a devoted matriarch to the family she grew in Amarillo, a skilled crocheter, and an avid reader. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or other important events. She was the most reliable and loving nucleus for her ever-expanding family.
Montie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Mark Timmons; and husband, Donnie who passed away on October 20, 2014.
Survivors include her sons, Ray Don Dawson and wife Heide, of Lubbock, TX, John Dawson and wife Robin, of Bushland, TX, and Ron Dawson and wife Lisa, of Canyon, TX; daughter, Kelly Bernhardt and husband Stephen, of Amarillo, TX; nine grandchildren, Tasha Porter and husband Steve, Heather Perkins and husband Ty, Anya Cost and husband Chris, Kristy Allen and husband Caleb, Jake Dawson, Brett Dawson and wife Ashley, Brandon Dawson and wife Rachel, McKinley Herzberger and husband Matt, and Disney Callahan and husband Aiden; thirteen great-grandchildren, Kevin Porter, Keith Porter, Reagan Porter, Celes Cost, Collin Cost, Ashlyn Allen, Hannah Allen, Emma Dawson, Skylar Dawson, Hadley Dawson, Janie Callahan, Sidney Herzberger, and Aleana Longoria; and two nieces, Cassie Uythoven and husband Sean, and Angie Timmons-Hanselka and husband Jason.
