  1. I worked with Rex on severally Emmaus and Chrysalis walks- to say Rex was a man after God’s own heart is an understatement. Rex was a good Godly man. Blessings and comfort to his family.

  2. Rex and Sherrel Burns was by far the best. dedicated couple to the Lord that I have ever encountered. I worked prison ministry with them for about 4 years we had some exciting times. I will always remember them fondly, I never will forget that Rex told me, that God had told him that He would send someone to teach him to preach, but God did not tell him that He was sending a black woman, we both got a real laugh out of that. RIP Rex you are now with Sherrel, and I know that makes you happy! Love you and Deep Water Ministry.

  3. Rex will surly be welcomed as a faithful servant of the Lord. I pray healing for the family and full knowledge of the work he did for Christ. May God bless you all.

  4. What a tremendous man of God!! Billy and Ryan, we are so sorry for your loss but what a blessing knowing that he is home with his Lord and Sherrel! What an amazing servant of the kingdom!! We were so blessed to minister with them and see the Lord do amazing things in all our lives ! Rex and Sherrel were my kids hero’s …. we loved them both ! Our thoughts and prayers for you all …. we love you… Kay & Mokey

  5. When I get to Heaven, if Jesus can find it in His heart to say, “Well done good and faithful servant” I would love to see Rex standing there beside Him, smiling just like he is in this picture. Before he was a bold missionary who traveled the world, he was my Sunday School teacher. When I was as lost and as discouraged as I’ve ever been, he and some others in that group At Pleasant Valley UMC picked me up, dusted me off, and loved me like Jesus. I will be eternally grateful, and do mean eternally. A lot of people will be in Heaven because Rex loved Jesus and wasn’t afraid to say so.

  6. I know you boys will miss your Dad! I loved your mother like one of my girls since we lived next door to your grandparents. Of course John and Joe were brothers! Love and sympathy to Billie Rex and Ryan and their families.

  7. I was always inspired by Rex. No one lived Jesus or people more. While traveling to Kentucky to see Johns and Russell I went through OklCity. That was the week of the bombing. I stopped long enough to see the damage. And who did I run. Into Rex. Sharing Jesus on a street corner. He was always one of my favorite people. You boys are very special
