Tommy was born to Gerald and Dorothy Nelle Garner on June 28th, 1954 in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1972.

Tommy married Rosa Ybarra on May 31st, 1974. They had 51 wonderful years together. Tommy and Rosa were blessed with 2 children, Lisa Miller and Thomas Garner, both of Amarillo, Texas and 7 grandkids.

Tommy retired in 2016, after working for 36 ½ years at Owens Corning.  He was a hard worker, even during retirement he was always working on his land.  He loved working with his hands and being creative.  He enjoyed working on his pool sticks, making knives, crosses, guitar picks and just about any project that family and friends needed help with.  He took great joy in being a blessing and helping people. He loved the Lord and his family with his whole heart. He was a member of Accelerate Church. He loved life and took countless pictures of God’s beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Tommy was always happy and easy going, always had a smile and the best laugh. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him, loved him. His big hugs will be missed by all his family and friends. His grandkids will remember that he loved spending time with them, playing pool with them, challenging them to races, swinging on the swing with them, he was loving and kind, super smart and knew how to do everything, funny,  a great teacher, generous, and shared his cookies. His wife will miss the flowers he would pick and place next to where she had her morning coffee. His neighbors will miss their lawnmower races and him stopping by to give them peppers and vegetables that he grew from his garden.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Dorothy Garner, his brother Royce Garner.  He is survived by his wife Rosa, sister Barbara Weiland,  daughter, Lisa and son Thomas, daughter in law, Blanca, son in law, Keith, and 7 grandkids Ethan, Evan, Alys, Ashton, Tom Eli, Ayden, and Sofia.

The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. – 7 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
